This is certainly Gevrey in character but thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins it avoids any sense of rusticity
the palate displays a velvety texture and good depth of fruit
The 2001 vintage was of course very successful in the southern Rhône and this was luscious and spicy but the tannins were completely resolved and the fruity impact was in retreat
but it just requires more intensity and chutzpah
