This artwork depicts John VII Palaiologos (or Palaeologus) who was the Byzantine Emperor from 1425 1447 in Constantinople. The original is from the work of Italian Renaissance painter Benozzo Gozzoli (c. 1421 1497). He is best known for a series of murals in the Palazzo Medici Riccardi depicting festive, vibrant processions with fine attention to detail
