This item has a serial number prefix of AF 48, evidence of manufacturing year of 1948 for a USAF order. This is the Observer's Turn Controller in the Cold War era USAF B 47 Stratojet strategic bomber, used by the Observer (i. e., Navigator Bombardier) to control the aircraft while on a bombing run.
