Astrograph Kit with Star Charts, Type A-1, Kodak, WWII Navigator's Tool HH-3 HelicopterHere is a complete WWII era Astrograph, Type A 1, make by Eastman Kodak. This instrument was used in aircraft with a navigator crewman as an aid to determine the position and course of the aircraft during nighttime flying using celestial navigation. The black projector was installed above a map table at the navigators station at the height specified by the height gauge included in the kit. This is a front left auxiliary cockpit window installed in some G-model B-17's

but the outdated cord has been removed for safety

as well as the Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon

likely from the 1950's and used in US Navy aircraft judging from the blue/green of some of its lettering and the presence of a USN stock # (R88-I) etched on the top edge of the case

the AN-104-series is the most common US VHF aircraft mast of WWII

25 inches square and ~7 inches deep

It consists of a white plastic planisphere with the northern sky on one side and the southern on the other that shows all the stars in the American and the British Air Almanacs

The yellow paint on the bottom was used to indicate if the pointer calibration screw had been tampered since last calibration (the paint is intact)
