Vincent Girardin, Corton Charlemagne Quintessence Vintage:2019(from Le Charlemagne in Aloxe). A wonderfully fresh nose combines notes of just sliced green apple and citrus confit with those of essence of dried flowers and a whisper of exotic tea. There is excellent punch and power to the larger scaled flavors that display a touch of muscle on the austere, serious and balanced finale. While the finish does flirt with rusticity, I suspect that this will gradually dissipate with bottle age.

I like the depth though the dusty finish is somewhat short at present

Here the almost unbelievably complex nose is notably more restrained than that of the Demoiselles with its pure white rose
