Gun Train/Elevation Meter, Radar Fire Control, US Navy Ships Turret, CW-22AAD, WWII B-52Here is an interesting WWII US Naval gunship artifact: a Gun Train Elevation Meter. This indicator was positioned at the Turret Trainers Station within a gun turret of a battleship or a cruiser, signaling to the Turret Trainer if the 'laying', or aim, of the guns needed to be trained (turned) left or right, and if the barrels should be depressed or elevated. The meter received its signal from the radar controlled range keeper, and judging from the

Made by Electric Auto-Lite with a serial number prefix of AF43
The black projector was installed above a map table at the navigators station at the height specified by the height gauge included in the kit
The indicator is New Old Stock and in exceptional condition give its age
also labeled with an Allison Engine part number 6734355A
which would be displayed on the ALT gauge
It's condition gives clues of its age
likely indicating manufacture date of 1957 for the US Air Force
