Antique Inlay Carpet Ball Hat XL: 20" - 23"Antique Victorian carpet ball with inlay bone detailing. In great condition. Measures 7" round. What are carpet balls? Victorian carpet balls were decorative, hand painted, stoneware or ceramic balls used in the parlor game 'carpet bowls'. The game, popular in the late 1800's in Scotland and England, was a variation of lawn bowling played indoors on carpeted floors.
