The leather is from a tannery in Tuscany and has a beautiful suede like finish on the back side. I get 2 hides in each color one for the body of the bag (4. 5 5 oz) and the other is a heavier weight hide (7. 5 8 oz) that I use for the straps. The back panel hides an interior pocket. Two straps come across the top to attach to solid brass shiny button studs.. The dimensions are ~5" x
