When Eisenman for the first time saw people walking into the memorial, he was amazed, seeing how their heads disappeared, like going under water. It reminded him of a passage from the book If This Is a Man by the Italian Jewish Primo Levi, who survived Auschwitz. Here, prisoners didnt seem to be alive but they
