UGS Cir Hilarious and poignant—as only DouglasThis colorful schematic map was printed in Denver for the New Wilson European Hotel in Salt Lake City in 1897, one year after Utah statehood, to commemorate the fifty year anniversary of the Mormons arrival. The map is a chronological depiction of the Saints progress in 1847 across the Midwest and Plains, with miles traveled daily, and with vignettes showing a wagon train, a group of tepees, a buffalo herd, and numerous other scenes from the journey.
