Costigan, Amer., (1888-1972) Drypoint An etched note in theEtching & Drypoint, ca. 1935 40?, AAA ed. 250, 8 13 16 x 13 13 16, signed, titled in pencil, on cream wove simili vellum paper. Costigan's empathetic portraits of families who earn their living close to the land are masterful in their drawing and composition, but even more so in their genuine feeling for their subject. I marvel at their continued affordability, but it is reflective of our times and culture.
