Passenger Pigeon with Chestnut Wall Plaque ceramic pina colada cup umber and blue tonesThis piece shows a passenger pigeon just landing on a branch with chestnut fruit detail. The last passenger pigeon died in 1914. This piece was created by hand sculpting the bird and branch, cutting it in half, and hollowing it out for a lighter piece and also for structural integrity during the firing process. The oval base and is capped with a covering near the top to hide the hole used for hanging. The back of the piece is laid with a mirror mosaic
