Und im Sommer tu ich malen typographie contournéSince 2009, Hank Schmidt in der Beek has been producing the ongoing series Und im Sommer tu ich malen (And in Summer I Do Paint). Together with photographer Fabian Schubert, he travels through Europe to paint a kind of self portrait. We see a painter in painterly landscapes. But rather than producing a depiction of the often famously art historical scene before him, the artist draws inspiration from the pattern on his shirt. The work therefore
